West Bromwich Albion are looking to send out a statement as the January transfer window edges towards its conclusion, with The Telegraph reporting that they plan to offer £8 million for Mislav Orsic.
The Baggies remain top of the Championship. But their form has been a concern lately.

Slaven Bilic’s side have not won in the league since mid-December. And their rivals would have taken a lot of encouragement from their defeat to Stoke City on Monday.
What the loss appears to have done however, is prompt Bilic to push for a marquee signing this month.

The Telegraph reports that Bilic is hoping for two new signings this month and the Dinamo Zagreb man is a main priority.
The report suggests that the Baggies plan to make an £8 million bid for the 27-year-old.
Orsic has scored 17 goals in all competitions this season, including a Champions League hat-trick.
TBR View – Baggies not prepared to take position for granted
It has been a fantastic start to life in the Championship for Bilic. West Brom have lost just three league games all season.
But with the chasing pack breathing down their neck – Nottingham Forest will be three points behind with a win on Wednesday – it is smart to not take their position for granted.
It was not too long ago that many were expecting West Brom and Leeds to run away with the automatic-promotion spots before battling it out over the title.
Those predictions were clearly premature. But signing a player of Orsic’s calibre will certainly boost the Baggies’ hopes of remaining the division’s pace-setters for the remainder of the campaign.
