Goal have claimed that West Brom are one of three clubs to open talks with Liverpool over a move to sign striker Taiwo Awoniyi. The Nigerian has returned to Liverpool this summer after a very impressive loan spell with Union Berlin. Now, he is looking for a new club and West Brom are keen.
Ever since Awoniyi joined Liverpool as a 17-year-old, he has been out on loan. He has gone out on loan seven times in six seasons – two of which were half-season loan spells. The Nigeria Under-23 international has played in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, lastly for Union Berlin.
In the Bundesliga, he netted five goals and created four more in 22 games for Union. Now, a permanent exit is likely with ex-loan side Mainz interested. They have made an enquiry, as have West Brom and Stoke. A previous report claims Liverpool are ready to cash in on £8million.

Liverpool talent Awoniyi could be a bargain for West Brom at £8m
Awoniyi has now proven he can score or create goals in the top tier of German football. So, to take him into the Championship in a side that are likely to be challenging for promotion, he will score goals at West Brom. Still young, Awoniyi is a future international and a bargain at £8million.
Are Liverpool dropping the ball on Awoniyi? Well, he does need to leave. He has little chance of breaking in at Anfield. But should they charge more than just £8million? Perhaps. A sell-on clause must be included in a deal.
