West Brom have made an enquiry regarding a potential loan move for Josh Maja, according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (10/1; page 72).
The Baggies are still waiting for their first win under Sam Allardyce. They were knocked out of the FA Cup by Blackpool on Saturday.

There are advantages to being able to focus on the Premier League. But the result emphatically highlighted the need for new signings to come in before the transfer deadline.
And it appears that West Brom have stepped up their push to sign a new striker. According to the Sunday Mirror (10/1; page 72), they have made an enquiry to take Maja on loan.

Interestingly, the report claims that the bid would leave the door open for a permanent move for the Bordeaux striker should the Baggies stay in the Premier League.
Maja has scored two Ligue 1 goals this season. But he has previously demonstrated his potential, scoring seven times in the top flight last term.
The former Sunderland man also bagged 15 goals in 24 League One games in the months before his move to France.
TBR View: Maja loan could be gamble despite his potential
Judging by their summer business, Allardyce is going to have to be clever in the window. And using the loan market wisely could make a massive difference to the Baggies’ fortunes.
A permanent deal for Maja could prove inspired further down the line. However, signing the youngster on loan this month could be a real gamble if it impacts how many other players they can get in.
Maja’s goalscoring return this season arguably highlights that he is not yet the finished article. So it could be a roll of the dice if he was their only attacking addition this month.
