Turkish website state that West Bromwich Albion are closing in on a move to sign Galatasaray striker Mbaye Diagne, but will only land the Senegal international if they fail to get Benfica’s Swiss attacker Haris Seferovic.
Diagne, 29, has been in solid form for Gala this season – scoring 11 goals in 19 games and has 22 in his 39 career appearances for his current side. West Brom are closing in, but will only go ahead if they fail to get Seferovic.
Seferovic, a 66-time Switzerland international, has been in excellent form for Benfica this season – scoring 10 goals in 21 league and cup outings. Somewhat of a journeyman, he has struggled in the big leagues.
But he remains West Brom’s main target. With his form for Benfica impressive, though, it is unlikely they will sell the former Real Sociedad, Fiorentina and Frankurt man – and therefore Diagne remains more likely.

TBR’s view – Diagne a better bet than Seferovic
Seferovic, 28, scored four goals in 40 games for Sociedad. He managed just one in 12 at Fiorentina and only 19 in 96 at Frankfurt. Europe’s biggest leagues simply do not suit the experienced striker.
Is he really going to help West Brom get out of the relegation scrap they find themselves in? Probably not. Diagne offers more pace and probably more physicality, and his traits could suit a Sam Allardyce side more.
