Report: West Brom and Brighton plot Andre Ayew bids before deadline
West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Andre Ayew from Swansea City before the transfer window closes, but the Daily Mail reports that the Baggies face competition from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Slaven Bilic’s men certainly need to strengthen their attacking options before Friday’s deadline. Their top goalscorers ended their promotion-winning campaign last season with just 10 goals each.

And it appears that West Brom now want a forward who scored 16 times in the Championship last term.
According to the Daily Mail, the Baggies and Brighton both want Ayew. And the report claims that Steve Cooper is facing an anxious wait to see if the Swans can hold onto the 30-year-old.

TBR View: West Brom could have ace up sleeve in Ayew pursuit
Of course, much will depend on what Swansea want for Ayew. As well as scoring 16 goals, he also contributed seven assists in the league last term. He has already opened his account from this campaign.
But if they have the funds, West Brom surely have a potential advantage over the Seagulls.
As noted by BBC Sport, Ayew became West Ham’s record signing in 2016. And it was Bilic who was in charge of the Hammers when the £20.5 million deal went through.
Graham Potter, of course, spent some time working with Ayew at the Liberty Stadium. But the Ghana international was loaned out not long after the Brighton boss’ appointment.
So perhaps it would be fair to assume that Bilic’s relationship with the forward could help West Brom.
