According to the Evening Standard, Watford are looking to bring in Chelsea defender Baba Rahman to the club, with the EFL transfer window still open.
Rahman has had something of a nightmare spell with the Blues and has barely made an appearance, spending the majority of his time away Stamford Bridge on various loan spells.
He has most recently returned from a spell in Spain, where Real Mallorca were the latest team to try and get the best from the Ghanaian.
Chelsea signed Rahman from Augsburg back in 2015 for what the BBC claimed was an undisclosed fee. However, it was widely accepted at the time that the fee was over the £10m mark at least.
Watford are desperate to bring in a new left-back and have already looked at Barry Douglas at Leeds. The Hornets are eyeing a loan move for Rahman as they look to make a few squad tweaks over the international break.
A forgotten man, but could find his feet in the Championship – TBR View
Another Chelsea player who most fans will admit they probably didn’t even realise was still at the club.
Rahman’s spell with the Blues has been a nightmare but he’ll have done well contractually and has enjoyed some good enough loan spells out and about in Europe.
He also has 25 caps for Ghana, so it’s not like he is a bad player. A move to Watford might work and the Championship could be the place he finally finds his feet in England.
