Tottenham defender Danny Rose is reportedly attracting interest on deadline day from Watford.
According to the Daily Mail in its live blog (August 8, 11:12am), Premier League side Watford are showing “strong late interest” in the 29-year-old.
The report explains that Spurs are refusing interest as it stands, but an exit could still be on the cards on deadline day.
It is understood that Rose will be allowed to depart if the North London club sign Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, who is due imminently at the training ground to complete a move.
Rose’s exit has been up the air this summer and Watford emerging as late candidates for his signature is a surprise.
The England international is still a quality left-back that surely won’t want to drop down a level at Vicarage Road, but it’s be a stunning piece of business for Watford if they complete it.
Rose is still capable of playing at the elite level and played in the Champions League final last season against Liverpool.
The 29-year-old is certainly not finished yet and would be a brilliant addition for any team in the Premier League.
Spurs can cope with Ben Davies and Fulham’s Sessegnon as their full-back options for the new campaign, but there is no doubting Rose will be a loss and has been an immense servant.
