Report: Watford eyeing 'fantastic' international striker with over 100 career goals to his name
Watford are one of several teams said to be interested in West Brom on-loan striker Mbaye Diagne, according to Sky Sports.
The Hornets are looking to bolster their ranks following promotion to the Premier League and are said to have put the 29-year-old on their transfer target list.
Brighton and Crystal Palace are also reported to be tracking Diagne’s situation, with a permanent deal to Albion not on the cards now in wake of their drop to the Championship.
Mbaye joined West Brom on loan from Galatasaray in January and has impressed despite the Baggies being relegated at the end of their defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
The Senegal international has registered three goals and two assists for the Baggies, while his season tally including his Gala contributions stands at 14 goals and two assists.
Diagne has won 10 caps for his country, has scored over 100 career goals, and has played in the Champions League and Europa League, as per the WBA website.
Diagne has done well at West Brom despite not having much time to hit the ground running in English top-flight football.
Although the 29-year-old, along with other winter recruits like Okay Yokuslu, gave the Baggies a sliver of hope, it was too little too late in the end.
Given his talent, experience and efforts this season, he seems like a great shout for Watford.
