Villarreal have opened talks with Tottenham Hotspur as they look to negotiate a new fee to sign Juan Foyth permanently, according to a report from Spanish outlet La Razón.
It has been an interesting time for the Argentinian this season. He took some time to get going after heading to Spain on loan.

However, he has become a much more important member of Unai Emery’s squad in recent months. The 23-year-old has played in a variety of roles, including right-back, centre-back and holding midfield for the Yellow Submarine.
So it is little surprise that Villarreal are keen to keep him. La Razón reports that they do have the option to make his loan permanent for £13 million.

However, the report claims that talks have begun between the two clubs. It is suggested that Villarreal want to pay less for Foyth.
TBR View: Spurs would be making an error letting Foyth go for lower fee
Foyth’s stock has probably risen while he has been away. But it is important to remember that he had struggled to hold down a place in the Tottenham team under both Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.
Nevertheless, it would surely be a poor piece of business to let him leave for less than £13 million. In truth, some fans may well think that that price is already too low.
He is still young and has enjoyed a good year out on loan.
If negotiating a lower fee is a deal-breaker for Villarreal, Spurs should welcome Foyth back into the fold in the hope of either keeping him or selling him elsewhere for more.
