Victor Orta is reportedly ‘surprised’ at reports linking him with a move to the Red Bull group and is instead fully focused on his job at Leeds United.

That is according to a report from Leeds Live, who suggest the Spaniard was being lined up as a potential recruit for the Red Bull company, who operate clubs such as RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg and New York Red Bulls.

It comes amid major upheaval at the Austrian based group. Paul Mitchell has left his role at Leipzig to take up the sporting director position at Monaco whilst Ralf Rangnick is set to leave his position as head of sport and development for the AC Milan manager’s job.

The Independent reported that the Leeds United supremo is being eyed to take over from Mitchell’s role as technical director of football

It would undoubtedly be an exciting proposition for the Spaniard, who has won many admirers with his ambitious drive to recruit Marcelo Bielsa and the displays of several of his signings, including Mateusz Klich and Ben White at Elland Road.

But, for now, it appears that Orta ‘does not expect’ to leave Leeds anytime soon and he is fully committed to the current Elland Road project.

Despite a difficult first season at Leeds, Orta has since won over fans with his passion for the club and role in the appointment of Bielsa.

His ability to lure the likes of Helder Costa, Jean-Kevin Augustin and Kiko Casilla to West Yorkshire can also not be understated.

So Leeds fans will undoubtedly be hoping that their transfer guru stays put.
