According to Spanish publication Super Deporte, Valencia will now turn their attention to Arsenal midfielder, Matteo Guendouzi.

The Frenchman has been cast aside at Arsenal following a big bust-up with Mikel Arteta a few months ago and is expected to leave north London this summer for pastures new.

A number of clubs have expressed an interest so far, with PSG and Lyon among those mentioned. However, former Watford manager, Javi Gracia, appears to have jumped to the front of the queue now as he looks to take Guendouzi to Valencia.

The report claims Gracia is looking to complete a season-long loan deal for the Arsenal starlet after the La Liga club’s new boss failed in a bid to try and land Watford midfielder, Etienne Capoue.

Guendouzi – who reportedly earns £40k-a-week at The Emirates – could well be open to a move to Spain. For Arsenal, it would help them move a wage on as Arteta looks to wheel and deal this summer to help reshape his squad.

Valencia are in a transition period to say the very least and have recently sold star forward, Rodrigo, to Leeds United. A number of other players are expected to leave, too, as the La Liga side try and balance the books.

This, then, gives Guendouzi the perfect chance to land at a club where he will immediately be in the first XI and a regular.

That could be exactly what he needs and suit all parties. If Guendouzi is serious about getting back to playing football, then a move to the Mestalla could be the perfect chance he needs.
