Unai Emery has made Juan Foyth his number one defensive target for Villarreal, but Spanish outlet AS has reported that Tottenham Hotspur are not keen to sell the Argentinian permanently.
Spurs fans would be forgiven for feeling that Foyth’s future lies away from North London. He did not make a single appearance for Tottenham following the turn of the year.

Interestingly however, AS has reported that Spurs are reluctant to let Foyth leave on a permanent basis this summer.
The report notes that Villarreal have made the 22-year-old their top defensive target. And, while it would appear that Tottenham are not planning to sell him, it is hinted that Jose Mourinho’s stance could have an influence should he decide he is not in his plans.

TBR View: Spurs should consider Foyth loan unless significant bid arrives
Of course, Tottenham may find it difficult to turn down big money for Foyth. If he is going to struggle for game-time once again, it makes sense to let him leave in some capacity.
A loan exit may be the most sensible option for Tottenham. He is a player with potential. And Spurs fans have seen glimpses of his quality since his 2017 arrival.
Regular game-time may allow Foyth – who earns £21,500-a-week, according to Spotrac – to get his career back on track. And Tottenham may benefit in the long-term if he is allowed to leave temporarily.
It is not clear whether Villarreal have any interest in pursuing a loan deal. But it will be interesting to see how this situation develops with Spurs reportedly not planning to let him go permanently.
