Leeds United midfielder Alfie McCalmont has been offered the chance to join Union Deportivo Ibiza on loan, according to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post.
McCalmont handed the Whites a major boost earlier this month. The club confirmed on their official website that the Northern Ireland international has signed a new four-year contract at Elland Road.

But it appears that he could soon seal a temporary move. The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that UD Ibiza have made a loan bid for the 20-year-old.
It remains to be seen what decision Leeds come to. But the report does note that the offer is under consideration.

TBR View: McCalmont’s priority has to be game-time
Few would have predicted that McCalmont may end up moving to Spain’s third tier this summer. It would be no surprise if the classy midfielder attracted a lot of attention during this window.
But having struggled for game-time last season, McCalmont’s priority has to be moving to a club where he is going to play regularly.
Heading to the Balearic Islands may make McCalmont’s task of catching the eye more difficult. Of course, Leeds will not take their eye off his development, but it may be tougher for the midfielder to prove a real point to his parent club given the standard of the opposition.
But the experience could perhaps prove to be a fantastic one as he develops his game.
And Leeds clearly have confidence in McCalmont’s potential. So if they are happy to let him join UD Ibiza, perhaps it may turn out to be a very smart move for the youngster this summer.
