A report from the Reading Chronicle has claimed that two clubs from Leeds United, Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers have had bids of over £5 million rejected by Reading as the Royals look to try and hold onto Michael Olise.

Olise’s future has become a talking point as he continues to impress with the Championship side.

The Daily Mail reported this week that the 18-year-old was likely to leave in this window. And they suggested that Leeds, Wolves and Arsenal are interested in the youngster.

The Reading Chronicle has also reported that the Premier League trio want Olise. And it appears that two of the clubs have confirmed their interest with a bid.

According to the report, two of the three have made offers in excess of £5 million for the teenager. It is noted that Reading have rejected the bids as they want to hold onto Olise.

It will be very interesting to see whether any of the trio make offers before Friday’s deadline.

TBR View: It’s unclear who has bid, but Leeds look to be most likely candidates

Of course, there is every chance that Arsenal and Wolves are the clubs to have bid. But Leeds arguably look, on paper, to be the most likely candidates.

That is because they do appear to have shown some interest in further strengthening their options at this stage of the window.

As reported by the Daily Mirror, Leeds have made an enquiry for Louie Sibley. And it is suggested that they are also monitoring Todd Cantwell.

It is noted that both players – reportedly valued at at least £15 million – are out of Leeds’s price range at this stage of the summer.

But they are still seemingly showing intent at this point. And with the reported bids for Olise potentially coming in at less than what Derby want for Sibley, perhaps there is a chance that Leeds are one of the teams to have made a bid for the Reading prospect.

If they are, perhaps Reading will be bracing themselves for further interest now that Sibley and Cantwell are seemingly not ending up at Elland Road.
