Thiago Alcantara and Neco Williams are both being carefully managed by Liverpool at the moment, the Liverpool Echo report.
Missing from training
Thiago and Williams actually weren’t in Liverpool training on Sunday, as the team gear up for the new campaign.
The duo are both still in Austria, unlike some of their younger teammates, but it has now emerged that they have been put in individual training programmes.
Liverpool don’t want to overly tax the pair and risk injuring them ahead of the campaign.
Being careful
Liverpool’s reasons for being cautious with them may both actually differ too.
Thiago is expected to play a key role at Anfield this term, but he struggled for fitness last campaign.

The Spaniard sat out much of the season, and Liverpool will want to avoid him being sidelined again.
Williams, meanwhile, appears to be on the verge of a move away from the club.
And Liverpool won’t want to jeopardise a potential switch, which could earn them a significant amount of money by leaving the full-back with an injury which could put off potential buyers.
