Report: Two clubs in constant talks to sign Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele

Bayern Munich and Barcelona are both thought to be interested in Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Foot Mercato.

The 23-year-old is keen to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, with his relationship with Jose Mourinho thought to be frosty.

Inter Milan were thought to be considering a bid for the former Lyon player, reports suggested last week, but it seems they aren’t the only interested party.

Both Bayern and Barcelona would provide attractive options to Ndombele. The duo are both Champions League clubs and more crucially would probably offer him more chances to play.

The Frenchman signed for Tottenham for a club-record £55 million last summer. Quite simply though, he has failed to scale the heights that his potential promised.

Ndombele has started just 17 games in all competitions, featuring in just four games following the restart.

If Tottenham could recoup a decent amount for the six-time France international then it might be worth offloading him.

Mourinho will want to strengthen his squad this summer, making his own mark on a squad inherited from Mauricio Pochettino.

Last season injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min left Tottenham desperately short in attack and Mourinho will want to avoid a similar situation.

If the cash from selling Ndombele could be used elsewhere on the squad, then it might make sense.

The midfield warrior has struggled to adapt to life in England and given his unflattering season, Tottenham might be forced into losing money on their player.

For whatever reason, though it just hasn’t worked out and Tottenham must make a decision this summer.

With midfield options pretty extensive at Tottenham, Daniel Levy would be wise to sanction a sale and add some more attacking quality.
