Marvellous Nakamba is not the only Aston Villa player Trabzonspor are interested in signing in this summer, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Turkish side are also keen on signing Trezeguet.
The Villans are gearing up for their second season back in the Premier League after securing survival on the final day of the campaign.
Some fans may be hoping for some significant changes this summer to ensure that they are not in a similar position this time next year.
And it appears that the club could be offered the chance to offload two of the signings Dean Smith brought in ahead of their top flight return last summer.
The Daily Mail reports that Trabzonspor are keen to take Nakamba on loan. Meanwhile, it is also suggested that they also want Trezeguet.
It remains to be seen what Villa’s stance on the pair will be.
TBR View: Mixed form makes it difficult to predict Trezeguet’s future
But it would not be a surprise if there were plenty of Villa fans imploring the club to not let Trezeguet leave during this window.
His form was mixed at times. And one assist all season is not good enough for a wide player. However, Jack Grealish was the only Villa player to score more league goals than the 26-year-old.
And it was Trezeguet who scored arguably the most important goal of the club’s campaign as his winner saw off Arsenal on the penultimate day of the season.
That goal – as well as the brace he bagged in the win over Crystal Palace – ensured that Villa had their fate in their own hands heading into the final day.
It will be interesting to see therefore, if Smith does have any interest in letting him go. There do appear to be admirers planning to test their resolve to keep the Egyptian.
