Turkish newspaper Fanatik have claimed that Trabzonspor are in talks with Everton to sign out-of-favour striker Oumar Niasse this summer, with the Toffees more than willing to wave goodbye.
Niasse, 29, has struggled at Goodison Park since his £13.5million (BBC Sport) move from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2016. Since joining Everton under Roberto Martinez, Niasse has managed just 39 appearances.
He has spent time on loan at Hull City and Cardiff City in the Premier League, scoring five times at Hull and failing to find the back of the net last season at Cardiff during his 13 appearances.
The report claims the Senegal international will be allowed to leave Everton as he enters the final 12 months of his contract. The issue over a move centres around whether Trabzonspor can convince Niasse with a move to Turkey.
TBR’s view – Niasse has got to leave Everton
The signing of Moise Kean has left Niasse out in the cold – if he had not been already. He is completely surplus to requirements at Goodison Park, with Marco Silva hardly giving the player a chance.
The Toffees now have Kean, Dom Calvert-Lewin, Cenk Tosun and Richarlison as options up front, while Theo Walcott can also do a job and youngster Fraser Hornby continues to shine. Niasse must leave.
