Turkish outlet Fotospor have claimed that Turkish SuperLig leaders Trabzonspor are looking to replace the likely sale of Alexander Sorloth with one of three Premier League strikers – including Newcastle United club-record signing Joelinton.
Sorloth, 24, is currently on loan at Trabzonspor from Crystal Palace but with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Liverpool linked with the 22-time Norway cap – they are expected to activate the £5.2million release clause in his contract.
The report claims Joelinton is one of three strikers Trabzonspor want to replace Sorloth, with the former Hoffenheim star struggling since his club-record move to the Premier League. Joelinton has scored just once in the Premier League.
However, Joelinton is not the only striker being linked with a move to Trabzonspor. Indeed, the report claims Aston Villa’s powerful striker Wesley is also on Trabzonspor’s shortlist – and Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho.

TBR’s view – Newcastle takeover should have Joelinton worried
The Brazilian has really struggled, scoring only three goals in total for Newcastle – failing to live up to the famous number nine shirt. To be fair to Joelinton, he is naturally a left winger, and he can hardly be blamed for failing to adapt.
With Newcastle coming close to a takeover, a new striker is likely to be the first transfer on the new board’s agenda. Such a takeover should have Joelinton worried, and the Brazilian should seriously consider a move to Trabzonspor.
