Report: Tottenham's players initially were more impressed by Rodrigo Bentancur than Dejan Kulusevski
According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur players were initially more impressed with Rodrigo Bentancur than Dejan Kulusevski.
Spurs signed the two players from Juventus in separate deals in January this year. Kulusevski joined Tottenham on an 18-month loan deal, while Bentancur was signed permanently for an initial fee of £15.8 million (Sky Sports).

Both Kulusevski and Bentancur have been excellent for Tottenham since they joined the club at the start of this year.
The Swede, in particular, took the Premier League by storm. He formed a sensational partnership with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in attack and almost instantly became a fan favourite.
However, inside Tottenham’s training ground, it was apparently Bentancur who caught the eye of his new teammates way more than Kulusevski after they joined the club in January this year.
The Uruguayan is now an integral part of Spurs’ midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The two have been so good that they’re keeping Yves Bissouma – one of the best midfielders in the Premier League in the last two seasons – out of the side.
That’s no small feat at all, and Fabio Paratici deserves immense praise for bringing him in.

Juventus really are a strange club, aren’t they?
They could’ve had Kulusevski, Bentancur and even Cristian Romero – three of Tottenham’s most important players – in their side at the moment. They decided to get rid of all of them.
Juve’s loss has well and truly proved to be Spurs’ gain. The North Londoners, despite not playing well, have lost just one game all season. The Old Lady, on the other hand, are eighth in the Serie A table, having won just three of their first nine games.
One can only wonder what difference the likes of Kulusevski and Bentancur would’ve made to their side, but Tottenham fans will not care about that.
