Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth could move to a Premier League rival in the final stages of the summer, with The Telegraph reporting that Fulham want the centre-back.

It would be no surprise to see Scott Parker bolster his defensive ranks before the deadline passes. They have conceded 10 goals in their opening three games.

Their 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Monday prompted Tony Khan to take to Twitter to try and explain why they have been unable to sign a new centre-back since sealing promotion.

And the fans will be hoping that the loss acts as a catalyst as they look to strengthen their options at the back.

The Telegraph reports that Foyth is on Fulham’s radar. It is also noted in the article that he is expected to leave Tottenham during this window.

It remains to be seen if he remains in London however. And Fulham fans may perhaps have their concerns about whether the 22-year-old would be capable of solving some of their defensive issues.

The Argentinian – who earns £21,500-a-week, according to Spotrac – has arguably not kicked on from the promise that he showed in the early stages of his Spurs career.

Jose Mourinho would surely welcome offers for the youngster before the window shuts. He is yet to make an appearance for Spurs this term despite Tottenham facing a daunting schedule at the beginning of the campaign.

It will be interesting to know what Foyth makes of the interest. He would surely want to move somewhere where is likely to play regularly.

But Fulham’s start to the season hints that they are going to need to do a lot more than bring in one defender before the deadline passes if their fortunes are going to change.
