Cambridgeshire Live has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jack Roles will remain at the League Two side until the end of the season – after being previously scheduled to return this month.
Roles, 20, joined Cambridge in the summer on loan until January 5 – and the young midfielder has since starred for Colin Calderwood’s men. He has managed 20 appearances for his temporary side, and even scored five goals from midfield.
The three-time Cyprus Under-21 international has scored 12 goals in 32 appearances for Tottenham’s Under-23 side, and is renowned for his ability to score from midfield. Indeed, he has become a favourite among Cambridge supporters.
Now, it is believe Roles will remain at Cambridge until the end of the season rather than returning to Spurs this month. The Spurs midfielder has a contract at his parent club until the summer of 2021.

TBR’s view – Roles has little chance of breaking into Spurs side
Even though he is on fire at his loan side, Roles has little chance of breaking a hole into Jose Mourinho’s current first-team squad – due to the utter lack of options Mourinho boasts in the senior side.
Along with Oliver Skipp, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele – Spurs are interested in Boubakary Soumare, have Luke Amos on loan at QPR and then Roles.
