Tottenham are in talks with Nantes striker Randal Kolo Muani over the striker moving to North London on a free-transfer next summer.

According to FootMercato, Spurs and their transfer supremo, Fabio Paratici, have already engaged in talks with Nantes and Muani over a deal, with the 22-year-old striker free to negotiate with clubs from January.

Muani scored 10 and assisted another nine last season as he impressed for the Ligue 1 side. His form earned him a spot in the France national side for the Olympics, where he played three times.

However, he has yet to come to terms on a new deal with Nantes. And with his deal set to expire in the summer of 2022, it means Muani is free to sign for who he wants to in January.

Tottenham are once again on the lookout for fresh attacking options in the next two windows. The future of Harry Kane remains uncertain, while players like Dele Alli could also move on.

Spurs will face competition from the likes of Bayern and Frankfurt for Muani. The German pair are both known admirers of the young forward.

TBR’s View: Muani to Tottenham good business for nothing

This is a young player who’d be coming to England unproven at the very top level and lacking experience. But on a free, Muani is definitely worth a punt for Tottenham.

They’ve been stung too many times by big money signings not working out in recent years. Going for someone on a free, then, makes perfect sense.

In terms of where Muani would fit, it would be a case of him finding his best position. At the moment, he can play centrally or down both wings if needed. Obviously, that versatility helps him in this Spurs side.

Muani is definitely one to watch out for though. And with Paratici already making contact, this one might have legs.
