Tottenham are lining up a move for Sassuolo defender, Gian Marco Ferrari, ahead of strengthening their defensive ranks during January.
The Italian defender, 28, is said to be on the radar of Jose Mourinho, according to an exlusive report from 90Min.com.
Ferrari has been a regular with the Italian outfit and has wracked up over 200 career appearances so far in spells with Crotone, Sampdoria, and now Sassuolo.
Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on adding a defender to his ranks in January. This, despite Joe Rodon stepping in on Sunday against Chelsea and Eric Dier impressing. It is believed Davinson Sanchez could be losing the Spurs boss’ trust.
Ferrari is said to be one of a number of defenders Spurs are monitoring. 90Min claim that Kim Min-Jae may be another option that Mourinho is considering.
However, it is believed Daniel Levy is looking to limit any backing to around the £15m mark. Whether that would be enough to land Ferrari, remains to be seen.

It looks very much like Jose is looking to strike while the iron is hot and bring in a defender to help Spurs over the line while they’re in the running for the title.
The time really is now if Spurs are going to land the biggest prize in the land, so making sure the squad has appropriate depth is going to be key.
Ferrari, while a relative unknown in England, has slowly built a reputation in Italy and at 28, has suitable experience to step into the fold at Tottenham and make an immediate difference.
