Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Netherlands international Cody Gakpo, with the Sunday Mirror (14/11; page 68) reporting that he scored in front of Spurs’ scouts this season.
Gakpo has been absolutely outstanding for PSV Eindhoven this term. He has tended to play on the left for Roger Schmidt’s side in a 4-2-3-1 system.

Only Dusan Tadic has provided more assists in the Eredivisie this term. The 22-year-old has set up seven goals for his teammates. Meanwhile, he has scored eight times in all competitions so far.
And his form is not going unnoticed. According to the Sunday Mirror (14/11; page 68), Tottenham are monitoring Gakpo.
It is noted that Spurs had representatives at PSV’s Europa League clash with Monaco in October. Gakpo went on to score in that game.

A move for Gakpo is being eyed with Antonio Conte looking to add more creativity to his ranks in his first window as Tottenham boss.
Gakpo threatening to be a special player as Tottenham keep him on radar
The youngster can play as a number 10. But he looks to be at his best when he has space to dribble into before using his flair and bravery to beat players.
It is not easy to knock the starlet off the ball. He stands at 6 ft 2 ins tall, and protects the ball superbly well.
And he possesses a thunderous shot. He is unlikely to try and place the ball when he gets the opportunity. It certainly appears that he would rather opt for power.
Tottenham have not always had the best luck when signing players from the Eredivisie. And that may also be a concern for Gakpo should Spurs come calling.
But there is no doubt that the attacking midfielder is amongst the several exciting prospects establishing themselves in the Netherlands squad.
And a big move may be just around the corner.
