Daniel Levy has set his sights on replacing Jose Mourinho with Julian Nagelsmann after his decision to part with the Portuguese boss yesterday morning, as per The Telegraph.
Mourinho spent 17 months in charge of the North London-based outfit and departs with the club sat seventh in the Premier League, five points off a top-four spot.
Tottenham had won just one of their previous six outings in all competitions and had been embarrassingly knocked out of the Europa League by Dinamo Zagreb.

The team’s form, along with apparent unrest from some players, tempted Levy into pulling the trigger with six games of the season and a Carabao Cup Final left to play.
Now, the Tottenham bigwig is keen to get the ball rolling on a successor for Mourinho. He’s reportedly targeting the Leipzig boss with the 33-year-old one of the world’s most highly-rated coaches.
The young manager has been in charge of the Bundesliga outfit since 2019 and last season helped the team reach the semi-finals of the Champions League where they lost to PSG.
He boasts an impressive 58% win ratio from 88 games as manager of the club, winning 52 games and losing just 15 times since taking over.
Nagelsmann is likely to have other clubs vying for his signature and it’s fair to suggest that Levy might need to move quickly.
TBR View: Nagelsmann the ideal man for Tottenham
A clean slate is what’s needed for everyone right now at Spurs and Nagelsmann could have the new ideas that the team desperately craves.
A new manager might not be the only thing needed to revive Tottenham though. The squad is still riddled with some players who aren’t fit for purpose and he will need to sift through his group in the summer.

Nagelsmann plays attractive football and his attacking outlook on the game is certain to delight supporters after Mourinho’s more considered approach.
Bayern Munich are on the lookout for a new manager come the end of the season and Tottenham might need to act quickly.
Nagelsmann could be just the man to get Spurs challenging for the major honours their supporters desperately crave the team to be challenging for.
