Report: Tottenham want Birmingham starlet Jude Bellingham

Tottenham Hotspur have become the latest team to join the race to sign Birmingham City sensation Jude Bellingham, according to a report from the Daily Star.

Bellingham has established himself as arguably the most exciting talent outside the Premier League. The 16-year-old has scored four goals and contributed two assists in the Championship this term.

The Daily Star reports that a number of top flight sides are chasing the teenager, including Manchester United and Liverpool. And he is reportedly expected to move on in the summer for over £30 million.

But perhaps, there is a chance that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may prove to be his destination.

The Daily Star reports that Spurs have joined the battle for his signature. It is noted that a switch to Old Trafford remains his most likely move at this stage.

TBR View – Could Spurs replicate Dele Alli move with Bellingham bid?

Tottenham have had some real success while signing youngsters from the Football League in recent years.

Ryan Sessegnon – who, admittedly, had just finished a season in the top flight – really caught the eye during his time in the Championship and has shown initial glimpses of his potential since joining Spurs.

But Spurs’ biggest success story surely came when they plucked Dele Alli from MK Dons. Alli went straight into Tottenham’s first-team once his loan spell came to an end. And he took practically no time to become a key man for the club. He scored 28 league goals across his first two seasons with Spurs.

Bellingham looks to have the talent and potential to be a revelation at the highest level. So perhaps Spurs should push for a move this summer in the hope that he could follow in Alli’s footsteps.
