Tottenham are set to wait until the summer to announce a new deal for Heung-Min Son, with the club increasingly confident terms have been agreed.

According to Eurosport, Spurs are in ‘very advanced’ discussions and are simply waiting for the right time to announce the new contract.

It is claimed the club also faces a similar situation with Harry Kane, with confidence once again high inside the Spurs camp when it comes to their talisman and skipper.

Son’s current deal is set to run until 2023. However, his performances have led Spurs to want to tie him down even further and give him an increase on his reported £140k-a-week wage packet.

News of a new deal for both Son and Kane will be welcomed by Spurs fans. They’ve seen their title challenge slip away this season under Mourinho, but will be well aware that the pair are vital to any future success for the club.

TBR View: Son is world-class, Spurs will be delighted to get this sorted

Getting Son and Kane tied down is as important as any transfer business Spurs will do in the summer. They are both so, so important to the team and the numbers back it up.

Spurs fans will have been getting tetchy lately waiting for news on this. But this does seem to allay those fears a tad and it seems the club are indeed confident of getting things sorted.

For Son, it is just reward for another fine campaign. His performances have been sensational and like Kane, he is now indespensible to the club.
