Football London have claimed that Georges-Kevin N’Koudou will be sold this summer if a ‘suitable’ offer is received before the September 2 deadline, as he continues to remain completely out of favour at Tottenham Hotpsur.
N’Koudou, 24, joined Tottenham in the summer of 2016 from Marseille for a fee of £10.9million (Guardian), but has endured a nightmare spell at the north London club since his move – though he did make a substitute appearance against Aston Villa.
The France Under-21 international has only clocked up 27 appearances for Tottenham since joining the club, as well as turning out for Burnley and AS Monaco during loan spells. Both temporary moves ended in failure.
The report claims N’Koudou has fallen even further down the pecking order following the summer signings of Ryan Sessegnon – who is seen as a winger by Mauricio Pochettino – as well as Giovani Lo Celso. Jack Clarke will return next season.
TBR’s view – N’Koudou needs to leave for good of his career
Unfortunately for all parties involved, it simply has not worked for N’Koudou. The winger has plenty of pace and trickery, and has shown in very rare glimpses that he has the quality to shine in the top tier.
An assist against Fulham last season and a goal in the Champions League against APOEL Nicosia have been highlights, but N’Koudou simply needs to leave Spurs. A return to his home country would be best for the winger.
