Tottenham are reportedly expected to prioritise a new deal for their in-form attacker Heung-Min Son after a busy transfer window.
According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho’s side are set to try tie down the future of the 28-year-old with a fresh contract.
It is claimed that the South Korea international will earn an increase on his current £150,000-a-week deal and the club want to enter negotiations.
The report explains that Son will be entering the final two years of his contract next summer and that the club’s chairman Daniel Levy has an ‘unwritten role’ that he doesn’t allow players to go into their final two years through fear of losing them later down the line on a free.
Son, who moved to North London for £22million (BBC) five years ago, has started the new campaign in blistering form.
The left-winger has been in red-hot form during his seven appearances so far in all competitions, scoring eight goals and supplying four assists.
With England captain Harry Kane also looking extremely sharp, Spurs arguably have one of the best attacking combinations across Europe right now.

TBR’s View:
Aside from their talisman centre-forward Kane, his attacking partner Son is surely the most important player in the Spurs squad right now and he’s good enough to play for any team in the world based off his current form.
He appears to be thriving under Portuguese manager Mourinho and is now willing to make runs in behind defence’s from central areas, which is naturally helping his goal return.
It’s important that they do secure his long-term future given he’s now reaching the prime years of his career and he’s going to pivotal in the club’s ambitions moving forward, where Mourinho is tasked with trying to win silverware.
