Tottenham will reportedly make a fresh bid for Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso imminently.
According to the Mirror, Spurs have already seen a £53million offer turned down for the La Liga dazzler this summer.
It is understood that the North London club are still pursuing the South American and are expected to make an improved bid during the next few days.
The report details Spurs are confident the 23-year-old wants to join them and are prepared to break their club record for him.
Lo Celso has an £88million release clause in his contract with Betis (Sky Sports) and has made quite the impression in the Spanish league during the last year.
The Argentina international made 46 appearances across all competitions for Betis last season, scoring 16 goals and supplying six assists in return.
He is a left-footed central midfielder with an eye for goal and is an excellent dribbler too.
Speculation around Lo Celso is set to take another twist with a new offer lined up and it seems Spurs are desperate to land him this summer.
He’s exactly the type of ambitious signing that the club needs following their move to a new stadium and after finishing as runners-up in last season’s Champions League.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino definitely deserves the full backing in the transfer window by Daniel Levy and it looks like there is a shift in thinking.
Lo Celso would add some much-needed quality in the centre of the park and has the potential to be a successor to Mousa Dembele.
