Tottenham Hotspur are one of the front-runners to sign Djed Spence, with Football London reporting that the right-back is interested in working with Antonio Conte.

Spence is wanted by a host of clubs after a real breakout year in the Championship. Middlesbrough let the 21-year-old join Nottingham Forest on loan. And he more than played his part as Steve Cooper’s side sealed promotion.

Understandably, Forest want to keep Spence ahead of their Premier League return. But Football London reports that Newcastle, Borussia Dortmund and Roma all want the youngster.

Reports at the weekend claimed that Tottenham are favourites to sign £10 million-rated Spence. But it was noted that Spence would be keen to stay at the City Ground if they were promoted. And obviously, they were.

However, Tottenham remain in the mix. In fact, Football London reports that Spurs are amongst the front-runners for the full-back. And, potentially crucially, Spence is interested in working with Conte.

It is noted however, that Spence wants to join a club where he will play regularly.

It certainly seemed that Forest would have jumped to the front of the queue after sealing promotion. He has clearly loved his time with the club. And Cooper’s side seem set to only improve in the coming months.

So it is encouraging that Tottenham remain right in the mix. In fact, he is keen to get the chance to work with Conte.

There is an opportunity for a right-back to come in and make themselves first-choice immediately. So that will also help as they look to convince Spence to make the move.

Spence looks to be an ‘unbelievable‘ prospect. And it would be superb for Spurs if they can now be the ones to secure his signature.
