Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of a new centre-back this summer, with 90min reporting that Borussia Dortmund have agreed terms with Nico Schlotterback ahead of the summer.
Schlotterbeck was attracting plenty of attention after an impressive campaign with Freiburg. He has been a regular fixture in the side. And remarkably, the two games he has missed in the Bundesliga have seen the club concede seven times altogether.

The Athletic reported recently that Tottenham want Schlotterbeck. Spurs are looking to sign at least one new centre-back at the end of the season. And the 22-year-old had been on their radar.
Meanwhile, Newcastle also want the Germany international. However, both of the Premier League sides look set to be left disappointed.

90min reports that he has agreed terms with Dortmund ahead of the end of the season. He has decided that he wants to move to the Westfalenstadion ahead of the summer.
Tottenham have opportunity to bounce back as Nico Schlotterbeck prepares to head elsewhere
Schlotterbeck appears to have a brilliant future ahead. He has previously been praised by Hansi Flick. So it is a blow that he has reportedly opted for a move elsewhere.
But Tottenham have other names on their radar. The likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol are wanted by Antonio Conte’s men. They are also keen on Sven Botman.
And the supporters will hope that the news on Schlotterbeck prompts Spurs to step up their pursuit of some of the other names they are keen on.
