Report: Tottenham need to offer key Conte target £7.5m-a-year
Tottenham and new manager Antonio Conte want to try and sign Inter Milan midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic, but must dig deep if they wish to do so.
That’s according to reports from Italy, where Tuttomercatoweb claims that Brozovic is looking to land a contract in the region of £7.5m-a-year. It’s claimed Inter will not be paying him that, which opens up the possibilities of a move away.
TMW claims that Brozovic is the top target for new Spurs boss Conte. The Italian worked with the midfielder in Milan, and is keen on a reunion.

Brozovic, 28, has won 68 caps for Croatia and is well known in Italy for his all-action style. He has started every game this season for Nerazzurri and recently broke the 250 game barrier for the club.
Tottenham are expected to be busy in the January transfer window. Conte has signed up to the project with the intention of being backed. A cheap deal for Brozovic could be one Conte pursues. However, the midfielder is free to sign with a new club from February anyway.
TBR’s View: Brozovic to Tottenham makes so much sense
Spurs need a midfielder who can offer a bit of everything and Marcelo Brozovic is certainly in that category. He might not be a goal machine, but he brings good passing range, experience, and bite to the middle of the park.
If Tottenham can get him in in January, then that is a bonus. But even if they wait until the summer, it will still be astute business.
The £7.5m contract is a big one. That would put around the £140k-a-week mark in wages, alongside the likes of Heung Min Son. However, if Spurs are serious under Conte, then they have to back him.
Brozovic, then, would be the ideal midfield signing for Conte and Tottenham.
