Tottenham Hotspur have taken a big step closer to completing their first signing of the summer after agreeing personal terms with Pierluigi Gollini, Calcio Atalanta report.
Contract agreed
The claims from Italy say that the goalkeeper has now agreed verbally a contract that he would sign at Tottenham.
Spurs still need to agree a fee with Atalanta, but the same report says that a bid of around £13 million could be enough to convince his current side into selling.
Gollini would actually be an interesting signing for Spurs to make at this stage.
Long-term Lloris replacement?
While Hugo Lloris wasn’t outstanding last season, and his form did dip at one stage, upgrading him doesn’t appear to be the most pressing concern for Nuno.
However, Lloris is now reaching the twilight of his career, and there must be a realisation around Spurs that a goalkeeper will need to be purchased sooner rather than later.

Gollini actually has had a spell in England before, but he barely made an impact at Aston Villa.
Thankfully in his time since leaving Villa he has gone on to prove his quality in Serie A.
And Tottenham may have the benefit of blooding him in slowly if he was to join now, with Lloris retaining his number one spot.
