Tottenham remain locked in talks with Swansea over a deal for Joe Rodon but have offered just £7m for the defender so far, according to the Daily Mail.

That is said to be way below the £18m Swansea value Rodon at and talks are said to be ongoing between the Premier League and Championship outfits.

Rodon has emerged as a deadline day target for Jose Mourinho, who is desperate to bring in a new defender to the club after missing out on Antonio Rudiger and Milian Skriniar.

The Welsh international has been a regula for the Swans in recent seasons and can play a number of positions across the backline.

However, that form has caught PL attention and Spurs are now looking to make a late play for Rodon. But, at £7m, it seems unlikely that the Welsh club will even entertain an offer that is so low.

In terms of insulting offers, this might trump the lot on this deadline day. £7m is a paltry amount for Rodon, who is worth far more than that.

His age is one thing, given he is in his early 20s, while his quality plus the fees Championship clubs now get for players, means Spurs are taking the micky a bit with this bid.

Tottenham and Levy will need to significantly up that effort if they want to land Rodon.
