Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed on his official website that Tottenham Hotspur are set to agree new terms with defender Japhet Tanganga – with a deal expected to be announced on Monday.
Numerous Tottenham players have agreed contracts of late, including Eric Dier, Oliver Skipp and Mauricio Pochettino’s son, Maurizio. ESPN have claimed that talks to start talks with Hugo Lloris are expected.
Tanganga, 21, has enjoyed a breakthrough season at Spurs – clocking up 11 senior appearances. Jose Mourinho is a fan of the England Under-20 international, having handed him his Premier League debut earlier this season.
Tanganga is in the final 12 months of his contract but the report now claims that he will put pen to paper on a new deal that will stretch until the summer of 2024. An announcement is expected on Monday morning.

TBR’s view – Tanganga deal is an absolute must
Given Jan Vertonghen has now left Tottenham following the last game of the season – with his teammates confirming as much – keeping Tanganga is crucial, given the young Englishman is showing enormous potential.
Able to play at right-back or at centre-back, Tanganga is also the kind of defender worth keeping purely based on versatility. He has already overtaken Juan Foyth and is knocking on the door behind Davinson Sanchez.
