Italian outlet Il Bianconero have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier has decided that he wants to join Serie A champions Juventus this summer.
The 28-year-old right-back has been constantly linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, with a move to Italy expected to materialise. It is even said his wife has been checking on schools for son Jacob.
Inter Milan, Napoli and Juventus are all said to be interested, with a fee of £26.7million enough to bring Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to the negotiating table. But it is said that the England defender has made his decision.
Indeed, Trippier is believed to prefer Juventus over the two alternatives, despite Juve boasting Joao Cancelo and Mattia De Sciglio. The report also claims that Juventus are ‘ready to get serious’ over a move for Trippier.
For just over £25million, Tottenham are bringing in a decent fee for a player that has underperformed over the past 12 months – especially given his stunning displays at the 2018 World Cup.
Spurs have been linked with a move for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and bringing him in to replace Trippier would be strong business by the north Londoners.
Indeed, Wan-Bissaka has more potential and could indeed surpass the quality that Trippier currently offers. Selling Trippier and using that money to sign the Palace defender is important for Spurs to progress.
