Tottenham are facing a continued battle to keep hold of their French midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, with RMC reporting that Inter Milan see him as a priority signing this summer.

With Antonio Conte staying on at the Italian giants, it has come to light that he wishes to continue his pursuit of Ndombele, which has rumbled on for a number of months already.

The Frenchman has endured a tough spell since arriving in north London for big money, putting in a number of disappointing performances during his time with the club.

However, that hasn’t stopped other clubs eyeing up a move for the midfielder, with Inter said to be dead keen on Ndombele. Indeed, RMC claims that Conte sees the Spurs man as one of his ‘priorities’ for the summer.

But it is also stated that Daniel Levy and Jose Mourinho are standing firm so far. This, despite Ndombele being up there as a top earner with Harry Kane on £200k-a-week at the club. (Spotrac)

It remains to be seen, then, whether or not Inter will increase the pressure and look to tempt Spurs into a sale.

It’s a tricky one with Ndombele and you can see why Daniel Levy doesn’t want to part ways with him on the cheap. He did, after all, sanction a move around the £60m mark to bring him to the club.

But the fact is that the performances simply haven’t lived up to the hype. He’s been poor in the main and some of his displays after lockdown were borderline terrible.

Jose Mourinho will want to get the best from him, for sure. But on the flip side, if he can get a good chunk of the money paid back for him then he could well instruct Levy to try and move the Frenchman on.
