The Athletic claim Tottenham midfielder Gio Lo Celso is coming across as ‘rude’ to Spurs staff – but that the players appreciate his sense of humour.

Lo Celso, 25, has been in and out of form during his Tottenham spell. But the report from The Athletic says patience from Spurs fans has snapped.

His poor form, followed by a dismal showing against Chelsea and his decision to travel and represent Argentina – has left fans frustrated.

Now, reports coming out of Hotspur Way say that Lo Celso is not hugely liked by Tottenham staff – with many of the opinion he comes off as ‘rude’.

However, the Spurs playing staff appreciate is sense of humour. For Lo Celso himself, Athletic sources state he is happy at Tottenham.

Lo Celso ‘rude’: What does he actually offer to Tottenham?

Lo Celso’s best form came under Jose Mourinho, playing as a deep-lying playmaker and creating magic from deep. But momentum is lacking.

He has been in and out of the side with injury or isolating in Croatia. When in, Lo Celso has been used out wide, or in a more attacking role at times.

But Spurs have better wingers than the £27million signing. Son is first choice, while Steven Bergwijn and Lucas Moura fit Nuno’s style of play.

In the 10 role, or as an attacking midfielder, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele are better options. Deeper in midfield, there are also options.

Surely, if a decent offer comes in for Lo Celso, Spurs should cash in on the Copa America winner – especially as staff begin to see him as ‘rude’.
