Report: Spurs squad love one thing Nuno has brought to training; 'a marked contrast from Mourinho'
Tottenham players are reportedly enjoying the intense training sessions Nuno Espirito Santo has implemented at the club.
According to the Athletic, the Spurs squad have enjoyed training sessions under their new Portuguese manager. Players believe it is ‘a marked contrast’ from former boss Jose Mourinho’s practices.
As per the report, this rise in intensity has been a relief for players, who felt they were underworked in sessions under the former Manchester United boss.
Nuno managed his first pre-season game with Spurs this weekend as the north London side drew 1-1 with Leyton Orient.
Teenage attacker Dane Scarlett scored the opener for Spurs in a match that paid tribute to the late Justin Edinburgh, who both managed the O’s and played for Tottenham for ten years.
There is a good energy surrounding Tottenham following the arrival of Nuno.
As per the report, players are largely happy with what the Portuguese manager has brought to training so far. And with the season one month away, Spurs will be in top shape when the campaign kicks off in August.
Indeed, sorting out the personnel of the squad will be next on the agenda for Nuno.
The former Wolves boss has plenty of players to decide on whether or not their future lies with Tottenham, as well as the ultimate question of what happens to Harry Kane.
The Spurs striker will return to the club later this month, and Nuno and supporters will be hoping that the England captain remains in north London for next season despite growing interest from Manchester City.
