Tottenham Hotspur have completed a move for Cristian Romero, according to La Repubblica.
Move ‘done’
The report, which surfaced in Italy last night, claims that Romero’s move for Tottenham is now ‘done’.
They also suggested that the centre-back will now ‘take the road’ to London in what looks like brilliant news for Tottenham.
Spurs have been trying to negotiate a deal with Atalanta for their star central defender for some time now.
The 23-year-old’s price-tag – of around £47 million (Guardian) – has complicated matters, but if they update is correct, Tottenham now seem to have agreed a fee.
With Romero keen on a move to Spurs, the deal should now reportedly go smoothly.
Big step forward
Romero’s arrival at Tottenham should be a momentous breakthrough and a signing which will really lift the spirits around the club.

Nuno’s appointment was not unanimously popular, with some accusing Spurs of showing a lack of ambition.
However, a move for Romero really does seem to highlight Tottenham’s desire to progress.
Romero was named as Serie A’s Defender of the Year last time around and is regarded as one of the best prospects in the world in his position.
His arrival should immediately improve Tottenham’s defence, which rarely looked solid last term.
Romero will become Tottenham’s third summer signing if he does join, after the arrival of Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil.
