Report: Tottenham rivalling three European sides for Chikezie Miracle Nwaorisa

Italian outlet CalcioMercato has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are one of four sides interested in raiding Latvian side Spartaks for Nigerian forward Chikezie Miracle Nwaorisa.

Tottenham are renowned for their faith in youth under Mauricio Pochettino, which has seen the likes of Dele Alli, Harry Winks, Kyle Walker-Peters and Oliver Skipp all break into the senior side during his tenure.

Nwaorisa is still only 18 years of age, and has broken into Spartaks team in recent weeks. He earned immediate praise, when he scored on his debut in a 2-1 defeat to FK Jelgava.

A work permit could be a problem but it is believed that Nwaorisa will take part for Nigeria’s Under-20 side in this summer’s World Cup in Poland between May and June.

It is also claimed that Spanish side Villarreal, Italian outfit Sampdoria and Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb are interested in the versatile attacker. It is believed Nwaorisa would cost around £1.3million.

TBR’s view

It is very hard to tell if Nwaorisa would have a positive impact in the Premier League. Still very young, and only three senior appearances to his name – in Latvia – is a difficult measure to determine his talent.

But with other clubs becoming interested, at just £1.3million, Nwaorisa is an absolute bargain and a risk that should be taken. Only one concern remains.

Everton have struggled to obtain a work permit for Henry Onyekuru since signing him from Belgian side KAS Eupen, despite Onyekuru playing for Nigeria’s senior side. Spurs must investigate the possibility of obtaining a work permit.
