Report: Tottenham remain keen on January move for Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik

Tottenham could be given the chance to sign summer target, Arkadiusz Milik, this summer, as the Napoli striker looks increasingly unlikely to pen fresh terms in Naples.

Milik was linked with a host of clubs in the summer, including Tottenham and Everton. However, a move never materialised, as both clubs landed other targets and the Polish forward ended up staying in Italy.

The Daily Mail now claims that Napoli could be open to letting Milik go in January, after leaving him out of both Serie A and Champions League squads for this season.

Milik’s deal with Napoli runs until the summer but the Italian side will likely want to see some sort of return on the 26-year-old rather than lose him for free.

Tottenham, then, could reignite their interest, with Jose Mourinho still on the lookout for new recruits despite a brilliant summer of recruitment.

Milike has scored 48 goals in 122 games for Napoli, per Transfermarkt. For Poland, he has 15 in 54 caps, playing predominantly second fiddle or support act to the ever impressive Robert Lewandowski.

Interesting one this, as Tottenham don’t really need a player like Milik at this moment in time.

However, if they are within touching of distance of competing for the title in January, then Daniel Levy might well choose to back Mourinho again and ensure the squad has enough quality and options.

Milik is a fine player. He can score goals, but also drop deep to create if needed. If he’s going for a bargain price, then Tottenham may not want to pass up the chance of a deal.
