Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to offer Franck Kessie a £6.8 million-a-year contract to join them this summer, Calcio Mercato report.
Big money offer
Tottenham are looking to sign the AC Milan midfielder, who could become available on a free transfer.
Kessie’s deal at Milan expires at the end of the season, and Tottenham are already making moves to sign him.
Football London have already reported that Spurs board feel that Kessie could be a bargain.
And without the need to pay a transfer fee, Spurs may be able to offer Kessie a substantial wage.
They say that a big money contract is being prepared for the powerful midfielder, which would put him on £132,000-a-week.
Fourth highest paid player
That deal would make him the fourth highest paid player at the club, with only Harry Kane, Tanguy Ndombele and Heung-Min Son on more money (Spotrac).
Whether that sort of salary would be enough to tempt Kessie into a move to North London remains to be seen.

But it does show Tottenham’s level of admiration for the 24-year-old.
If Kessie was to arrive at Spurs he would further bolster their midfield ranks.
But with Harry Winks, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Pape Sarr, Oliver Skipp and Ndombele already at the club, Spurs would surely have to sanction some outgoing deals, otherwise they could risk being bloated in the central midfield area.
