Report: Tottenham ready to sign Spurs 29-year-old's international teammate, club willing to cash in

Turkish outlet Takvim claim Tottenham are keen on signing Fenerbahce defender Kim Min-jae – with the Turkish side requesting £17million.

Kim, 25, only joined Fenerbahce in the summer having been previously linked with a move to Spurs. He has since played 15 times for Fener.

The stats are not particularly impressive, keeping just three clean sheets and conceding 20 goals in those 15 games. But Kim is excellent on the ball.

Indeed, while the defence around him are struggling – Kim has been a shining light in an inconsistent Fener side, which currently sit in fifth.

The 37-time South Korea international – who plays alongside Spurs 29-year-old Son for his country – is attracting interest from three clubs in January.

7 Footballers Playing In The WRONG Position

French side Bordeaux and Antonio Conte’s old side Juventus are interested, along with Spurs. The report claims Fenerbahce want £17million.

They are open to selling him in January if such a fee is received. Juventus have tabled £8.5million, while Spurs are willing to pay more for Kim.

Kim to Tottenham: Is he really an improvement at Tottenham?

Kim is a top player. He is defensively solid, strong in the air, good with the ball at his feet and can play in a two or a three – important for Conte.

But is he good enough to start for Tottenham ahead of Eric Dier and Cristian Romero? No. As he is right-footed, he does not replace Ben Davies.

Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Japhet Tanganga are currently acting as cover. Kim is hardly an improvement on what Spurs have got.
