Report: Tottenham ready to sell their 23-year-old player for just £8.75m after slashing his asking price

Tottenham Hotspur have set their asking price if Japhet Tanganga is to be allowed to leave in the January transfer window.

Italian outlet Calcio Mercato report that Spurs want 10 million euros (£8.75 million) for the Englishman when the winter market opens.

They report that there is interest from Milan, who have been drawn against Spurs in the last 16 of the Champions League.

But Antonio Conte does not want to sell Tanganga to Milan and potentially strengthen them before their huge knockout showdown.

Tottenham slash Tanganga asking price

It appears that Tottenham have slashed their asking price for the 23-year-old, who has been out of favour this season.

Spurs were asking for between 23-25 million, euros (£20m-£21.8m) in August, as per CMW, and Milan were considering paying up.

TMW reported later that month that Nottingham Forest offered £14 million for the defender but saw their bid turned down.

So if Spurs’ latest reported asking price is true, they have slashed their demands since the summer in order to try and get a deal done.

But if they do not want to do business with Milan, it remains to be seen who will come in for the defender as he looks to get some games.

Gary Neville knows a thing or two about playing right-back and centre-back in the Premier League and has called Tanganga ‘special‘.

He has not had much chance to show that quality lately, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for the academy graduate.
