Tottenham are reportedly ready to make an eight-figure offer for defender William Saliba from French top-flight club Saint-Etienne.
According to the Sun its print edition (Page 67, June 29), Spurs are prepared to make a £30million bid for the Ligue 1 enforcer.
It is understood that Premier League outfit Arsenal have already agreed personal terms for the centre-back, but are yet to reach an agreement with Saint-Etienne about a transfer fee.
Saliba broke into the Saint-Etienne first-team last season and played 19 times at senior level for the Ligue 1 side.
The 18-year-old is a highly-rated prospect that appears to be heading to Arsenal, but Mauricio Pochettino’s team may nip in and try hijack their North London rivals.

TBR’s View:
Arsenal certainly need defensive recruits more this summer to improve their side, but it makes sense for Spurs to move for Saint-Etienne’s prodigy too.
Saliba is already a France Under-20 international that has a growing reputation and may fit English football well.
The teenager didn’t look overawed in Ligue 1 football last season, while he’s a centre-back that has great power and pace.
Spurs have proven they have a real knack at developing youngsters and they do need to find replacements for the Belgian pair of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld.
