Tottenham could be about to smash their transfer record during the January transfer window, as the race for Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic hots up.
According to Sportsmediaset, Spurs are in prime position to land Vlahovic ahead of the likes of Juventus and Arsenal. It’s claimed by SM that Juventus don’t want to pay big money in January. Meanwhile, Spurs’ new manager Antonio Conte is said to be desperate to land Vlahovic.
Vlahovic is one of the top young strikers in Europe at the moment. After hitting 21 goals last term, the Serbian has continued his fine form into the current campaign.

But Fiorentina know they are going to lose their man. Talk of a move to Arsenal in recent weeks hasn’t gathered any more pace. And Sportsmediaset now suggest it is indeed their London rivals Tottenham who sit on pole.
Daniel Levy is expected to back Antonio Conte in January. Vlahovic is one of a number of Serie A players who are being linked with a move to England.
TBR’s View: Vlahovic the real deal for Tottenham
And that’s even if Harry Kane stays or goes. Vlahovic is that good, and either partnered with Kane, or as his replacement, he’d be brilliant for Spurs.
The problem comes in terms of the fee. Fiorentina are thought to be wanting around £68m for their star man. That sort of fee would smash the £63m transfer record held by Tanguy Ndombele at Spurs.
But Vlahovic’s age, his profile, and goal scoring abilities would, on paper, ensure that it would be money well spent. Conte is going to need top players to be successful at Spurs, and Vlahovic fits the bill.
This one likely to rumble on right into January. It could well, then, be a case of putting up or shutting up for the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, and Juve.
