Tottenham Hotspur will consider offers for Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama this summer. According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham could look to move a few players on and they are open to offers for Dier and Wanyama.
Spurs have recently completed the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon. The French defensive midfielder bolsters Mauricio Pochettino’s ranks for the long-term future.
But his arrival has cast doubt over the immediate future of Dier and Wanyama. Both players drifted in and out of the side last season and they both suffered injury concerns.
Pochettino is ready to let Dier and/or Wanyama leave for the right price. Ndombele will join Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks in the central midfield ranks but Dier and Wanyama face uncertain futures.
Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama or both: Who should Spurs sell?
Dier joined Spurs from Sporting Lisbon in 2014. After initially joining as a central defender, the 25-year-old has reinvented himself as a defensive midfielder. But his performances have dipped in the past two seasons.
After more than 200 games for Spurs (and 40 caps for England), Dier might be leaving. Alternatively, he could make the transition back into defence. Toby Alderweireld’s future is unclear so Dier could be a cheap solution in this department.
Wanyama could also leave. Multiple injuries have blighted the Kenya international’s progress since his move from Southampton and it might be the best time to part ways.
The 28-year-old is powerful and unplayable on his day. But he has struggled to get a run in the team after his injury return. Wanyama will not be short of suitors if he is made available for transfer.
